The Toyota Tacoma of 2023 and the Toyota Tacoma of 2024 are definitely not the same truck. Side by side, you can immediately see some major differences in body design and changes in exterior features. Shifting away from the body style and tech of the 2023 model, Toyota almost completely redesigns the 2024 model.
If you didn't buy a Tacoma truck last year, it's probably for the best, considering all the changes Toyota has made. But now is your chance to find your ideal truck at Toyota of Somerset. Contact our sales associates to figure out which is best for you.
All New Steel Frame
The Toyota Tundra has a high-strength steel "ladder" frame that prevents parts of the truck from denting or crumbing in the event of an accident. This coming year, Toyota takes that same steel frame and applies it to the design and construction of the Tacoma.
The 2024 Tacoma has a stronger, tougher frame than the 2023 model. It's a safety measure in itself, knowing that the truck is almost indestructible.
Three Versions of the Turbo Engine
Tacoma 2023 had two engine options, neither of which were turbo engines. The 2024 model will feature three different turbo engine options to propel you through Russell Springs, KY. All are suited and matched with one of eight trim levels for the 2024 Tacoma. The previous 2.7L and 3.6L V6 engines are scrapped in favor of the three turbo engine options on this newer truck.
Bigger and Wider Wheels
Some of the 2024 models will have 33-inch wheels, some of the biggest wheels you can put on a truck. The distance between the wheels has been increased to give the 2024 Tacoma a wider wheelbase for any off-roading and on-roading driving you intend to do. The wider wheelbase also meant that this truck needed an upgrade in shocks, which it got with the Bilstein shocks. The 2023 never had any of this, and it never will.
